The Tradition of Urdu Drama:

Anxiety is a natural aspect of everyone's life. Anxiety can lead to various ailments. Gives happiness to man, ie man has a natural and ancient passion for watching spectacles. A man watches his favorite spectacles to satisfy his heart and mind because he forgets his Eid for a few moments are used to organize concerts, but the regular beginning of the play is found in the civilizations of Greece and Egypt. Dance and revelry ceremonies were held in honor of the Greek goddess Dionysius.

The drama was written in the same way in Egyptian civilization. Two or three thousand years before the birth of Jesus, Egyptian civilization was at its peak because it was the cradle of the oldest human civilization according to Egyptian history.

MASTERS OF THE DRAMA:

In his book, Masters of the Drama, John Gass provides information about a religious drama of the period, which depicts the bizarre and supernatural events of the death of the Egyptian god Ori Sis. According to Nicole, stage drama began in China about 1,100 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, but according to China, the drama began in China about 2,000 years before Christ. I wrote plays in which divinity characters and dances were of central importance. This tradition has been going on with great permanence since ancient times till today.

CONFLICT, STRIFE, AND DIALECTS OF DIFFERENT CIVILIZATIONS:

Egypt, China, and Greece, as well as the subcontinent's civilizations, are considered to be among the oldest civilizations. Conflict, strife, and dialectics do not have much significance in the same way as in the Hindu drama, although the Greek tragedy was based on strife, confrontation, and confrontation. Once many gods together asked Brahma that Some equipment should be provided for their entertainment. So Brahma prepared a dance from Rig Veda, an anthem from Sam Veda, movements from Yajra Veda, and a method of expressing emotions from Atharvaveda. And ordered the heavenly architect and Shino Karam to make a ring shala inside Asan. The directing services on this stage were entrusted to Bharat Mani a Rishi. Called Gandharb and Apsaras and took the services of acting from them. Rather, these traditions are intended to show that Hindu drama is itself a contemporary of Hindu religions in terms of orthodoxy.

COMPARISON OF OUR FEW DRAMAS TO THE WEST:

Compared to the West, we have very few dramas written and the number of good dramas is so small that they can be counted on the fingers because the founders of Urdu literature were Sufis and Muslim poets and these gentlemen developed their own culture. Did not pay any attention to drama due to which the early period of Urdu literature seems to be completely devoid of drama.

The second reason is that the greatest influence on our literature was Persian language and literature and since in Persian There was no tradition of drama writing, so no drama was written in Urdu.

The third reason for not writing drama is that the two major centers of Urdu literature were Delhi and Lucknow.

FIRST URDU DRAMA AND ITS WRITER:

Wajid Ali Shah was the first ruler of the Walian state of India to pay serious attention to drama and wrote the first Urdu drama called Radha Kanhiya by Amanat Lucknowi at the same time. He wrote his famous drama, Indra Sabha. In this way, Urdu drama was founded in Lucknow.

PERIOD OF URDU DRAMAS:

The first period is said to be the second period of Urdu drama which starts from Bombay. Among the playwrights of this period are Ahsan Lucknowi, Betab Banarasi, Talib Banarasi, and Munshi Ronaq. Although Bombay was the center of drama at that time and innumerable theatre companies sprang up to stage plays on a large scale.

The third period of Urdu drama begins after Bombay. Prominent playwrights of this period include Hakim Ahmed Shuja, Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj, and Munshi Diya Narain Nigam. For this reason, these playwrights also wrote literary plays and presented translations of successful plays in foreign languages. Thus, the dramas of this period show a mixture of ancient and modern drama.

URDU DRAMA MODIFICATIONS SINCE PAKISTAN WAS FORMED:

Very little work was done in Urdu dramas after the formation of Pakistan. This work was mostly done on radio and television. Drama has given an untouched and a new field to Urdu literature. Well, known fiction writers Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, Intezar Hussain, Hajra Masroor, and Agha Babar had a special fondness for drama and they wrote many plays but apart from the writers of every tribe. Qarat-ul-Ain has translated the play by TS Elliott.
