Question

If someone intentionally misses the obligatory fast, how will it be compensated?

In the name of Allah, the Merciful

Al-Jawaab with the help of the King, the Wahhab of Allah, the Guide to the Truth and the Answer

If a person deliberately leaves the obligatory fast without a Shariah excuse, then he will be a grave sinner and deserving of the punishment of Hellfire. It will be necessary to perform Qadha on him with repentance. By repenting and taking Qadha, he will be absolved from evil, but the virtue of fasting can never be equal to it. Also, skipping the fast is a total loss, there is no benefit, because if you intentionally skip the fast, it will be wajib to live like the fasting people throughout the day. . Therefore, such people should perform their duties and obligations strictly, there is happiness and blessing in that.

On the authority of Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

Whoever fasts for one day of Ramadan without permission and without illness (i.e., did not break his fast), fasting for the rest of his life is not a qadha for him. Maybe keep it for later though.

(Jami-Tirmidhi, Volume 2, Page 175, Number of Hadith 723) That is, the virtue of fasting in the month of Ramadan cannot be found in any way now.

The Messenger of Allah,

may God bless him and grant him peace, says: "I saw that I was sleeping, so I took my legs, so I came to the mountain, and they said: Asaad, I said: I do not know, so I ascended even if I did not climb the mountain." With strong voices, I said: What are these voices? I am in the people of Maalqin biaraqibham. He said: Those of you who are at the time of the fast before Tallah Soumham.

That is, I was sleeping.

Suddenly two people came to me, they took me by my arm and brought me to a difficult mountain and said: Go up. I said: I do not have the strength. They said: We will make it easy for you. So I started climbing up until when I reached the level of the mountain, very horrible sounds started coming, I asked: What are these sounds like? He replied: These are the sounds of the people of Hell. Then they brought me to some people who were hanging by their ankles, their jaws were cut open and blood was flowing from them. I asked: Who are these people? Answer: These are the people who used to break their fast before it was permissible to break their fast.

(Sahih Ibn Khuzimah, Kitab al-Sayam, Hadith 1986, Volume 3, Page 237, Beirut)

The Imam of the Sunnah,

Imam Ahmad Reza Khan (may Allah have mercy on him) says under this holy hadith: "Since breaking the fast before the time of breaking the fast is the punishment of not having fasted at all, guess how much it will be. Wa-Iyazhu by Allah." That is, when breaking the fast before the time If there is punishment, think for yourself how much punishment there will be for not fasting at all. And I pray to Allah"

(Fatawi Rizwiah, Volume 10, Page 341, Raza Foundation, Lahore)

And Allah knows, and His Messenger knows, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
