Expo 2025 in Osaka: A Vision for Unity
On April 13, Expo 2025 commenced in Osaka, Japan, with the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives." Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba expressed hope that the expo would help bridge global divisions exacerbated by conflicts and trade tensions. The tariffs, including a 10% tax on all imports and a 145% levy on Chinese goods, have led to significant market instability and fears of a global recession. Brown urged international governments and central banks to coordinate responses, such as synchronized interest rate cuts, to mitigate the economic fallout. The Guardian
